About the role Would you like to join a world-leading construction and infrastructure business? This is an excellent opportunity to join our team and become part of our success. We have a fantastic opportunity for a Section Engineer to join our Highways Team on the M1/M62 CSB scheme in Leeds. This role will see you leading a multi-disciplinary team comprising Site Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Foremen to deliver a package of works. What you'll be doing Manage performance and monitor the competency of team members and undertake training/ coaching as appropriate Review Method Statements and Risk Assessments and make improvements as appropriate. Produce task briefing sheets and carry out associated briefings. Carry out field audits and confirm the sufficiency of control documentation. Produce and implement relevant Permits to Work. Guide and coach subordinates in technical requirements and techniques of setting out. Guide and coach subordinates in resolution of construction issues, drawing on experience and accepted industry best practice. Read and determine in formation from drawings, schedules and specifications. Produce and manage a look ahead programme and monitor its progress. Ensure QA processes and documentation are maintained and are actively audited. Who we're looking for Strong knowledge and management of construction process in one or more of the following areas: Earthworks/Drainage, Pavement, Structures, Roadworks. Strong work ethic with flexibility to work unsociable hours/nights. CSCS Card holder / SSSTS or SMSTS qualified. Excellent team player, able to work competently and independently without continuous supervision. Strong communication skills with good interpersonal and influencing skills. Solution orientated approach to issue resolution. Abiliy to guide and mentor others. Strong understanding of technical requirements and techniques of setting out. Targeting and actively progressing professional accreditation (eg ICE, IHT). Valid UK Driving licence and Right to Work in the UK (Essential).
