We are an organisation of 2,000 employees in the UK, headquartered in London, in a brand-new office designed with sustainability, ‘conviviality’ and collaboration in mind. We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.
Your new team
This position sits in our Chivas Brothers business. At Chivas Brothers, our 1,600-strong team across 27 sites is committed to upholding the heritage of Scotch and ensuring its sustainable future, as well as opening it up to new audiences across the globe.
Brand Homes are part of the Pernod Ricard group’s focus and Distilleries Brand Homes in Scotland are the face of our most famous whisky brands such as The Glenlivet, Aberlour, The Home of Chivas, Scapa.
The purpose of the Brand Homes is to bring The Glenlivet, Aberlour, The Home of Chivas and Scapa towards Scotland Single Malts leadership enhancing uniqueness of the whisky experience while highlighting Scotland incredible history and destination.
This is a Seasonal role to cover the Seasonal period at Scapa Distillery in Orkney.
The team at each of our Brand Homes receive training to support the key role they play in the Brand Home as well as support from Brand Home Managers. You will work with the team to provide unforgettable memories for our visitors on a daily basis.
Your unique contribution
As a seasonal host you will be able to create a memorable and enjoyable experience that guests will part with and share with friends; creating life long and committed consumers to our brand. Delivering exceptional customer service through conducting distillery tours, tastings, providing guidance in the shop and serving at the bar. Actively working to direct the vision and implementation of the brand, promoting brand advocacy to trade and public visitors as well as the following:
- Welcoming all visitors to the Brand Homes and always ensuring the Health & Safety of our guests and visitors.
- Conducting distillery tours and tastings offered at the Brand Home and maintain a high level of product knowledge, retail skills and whisky experience.
- Work to ensure shop is merchandised to reflect current promotions and to encourage sales of most profitable items.
- Champion outstanding customer service, leading by example and seeking opportunities to exceed customer expectations.
- Assist in weekly/monthly stock taking procedures.
- Acting as an ambassador for the company presenting the brands in a positive manner and contributing to brand promotion.
- Flexibility to work across all three Brand Homes to meet business needs and attend evening functions as required.
Who you’ll be working with
- Seasonal Hosts report to the Brand Home Management Team.
- Seasonal Hosts work with the Brand Home staff and Internal Trade guests and external Brand Home Customers daily through the season.

- Ability to work within in a team to promote the interests of the Chivas brand and deliver an exceptional guest experience.
- The ability to work on own initiative and be highly self-motivated.
- Have a flexible approach to their work.
- Passion for people.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Good working knowledge of distillery operations (not required but advantageous – full training will be delivered)
- Good working knowledge of Company brands and strategic markets.
- Knowledge of cash handling procedures and basic health and safety.
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends.
- Full driving licence (preferred due to remote location).
