We are now recruiting for a Seasonal Greenkeeper to work at Haste Hill Public Golf Course on a fixed term basis up to 26 weeks. Hours will be based on 36 hours per week. The post holder will play a pivotal role in supporting Hillingdon Council as we strive to deliver our core functions and achieve positive outcomes via a collaborative network.
Please be aware, the salary for this role will be pro-rata to the full-time hours, and the contract will be a seasonal contract on a fixed term basis for up to six months, which will commence in April 2023.
What will you be doing in the role?
As a Seasonal Greenkeeper you will join Hillingdon Council's Golf Team working together to ensure an excellent service is delivered to our residents and other service users.
The position will offer a variety of agronomic maintenance tasks including:
- grass cutting
- manual weed control
- strimming, bunker raking
- moving of tee markers
- emptying of litter bins
- maintaining planted areas including bedding, shrubs and hedges
- general course tidiness
Customers are excited to come to play golf and visit the shops, and you will be a an important part of their day, supporting them with their needs and promoting us as a golf course of choice.

About you
You will ideally have an NVQ Horticultural qualification, however we will consider individuals who demonstrate a passion for the industry but who have not had much practical experience. You will enjoy working as part of a team and able to work alone.
It is not a requirement that you play golf but if you do and have a knowledge of the game, this will be an advantage.
You will be able to safely operate a broad range of grounds maintenance powered machinery.
A proactive approach to work is a must. You should be conscientious, flexible and a good time keeper with a willingness to work weekends and bank holidays if required.
A driving licence is essential as you might be required to travel to another council owned golf course on occasions.
