Commis Chef - Temporary
Our passionate team are seeking an ambitious Commis Chef to join their busy kitchen.
The Old Market House takes a front-row seat to Brixham Harbour, enjoying beautiful views across the port.
You’ll be working at a popular, contemporary pub that attracts locals and tourists alike throughout the year. Overlooking one of the UK’s largest fishing fleets, this scenic spot is no stranger to stunning Tall Ships and a wealth of fascinating maritime activity.

About You
You have a passion for working with quality fresh, local food. Being part of a tight-knit, hardworking kitchen team who consistently deliver their absolute best is what gets you up in the morning. It’s also what brings guests to our tables!
While you are proud of what you’ve achieved so far in your career, specifically within a food-lead venue’s high-volume kitchen, you remain hungry to achieve more. You have a natural flair for communication, thrive under pressure, and get a real buzz from being part of a dedicated team.
Your experience has seen you:
- Develop a passion and enthusiasm for creating fantastic locally-sourced, seasonal food that ‘wows’ your guests.
- Showcase brilliant teamworking skills.
- Utilise excellent organisational skills.
- Gain a Food Hygiene Certificate, and ideally an NVQ Level 2.
