Job description
This is a seasonal job for immediate start until Sept/Oct 2023, working on a horticultural nursery.
If foreign national must have right to work in UK or pre settled status.
We are looking for an honest and reliable individual that loves working in the outdoors. This is a physically demanding job and requires a hands on attitude.
You will be working as part of a team to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the Growing Site. The Field assistants are responsible for the production and supply of high quality of plants sold in our Retail Area.
Team work, flexibility and good communication are essential for success throughout the entire workforce. We are looking for an honest and reliable individual that loves working in the outdoors
MAIN DUTIES
- To assist with plant production
- To maintain and care for existing stock including routine watering, weeding, feeding etc
- To become familiar with plant names (in latin) and their cultural requirements including pruning techniques
- To help out with deliveries of goods in
- To become competent with our in house stock system for labelling, plant look up etc
- To record all plant movements with handheld scanners
- To ensure that operating procedures are complied with and implemented
- To work in an efficient manner being responsible for your own actions at all times
- To care and maintain tools and machinery
- To ensure compliance with relevant legislation at all times
- Undertake any other duties which may be reasonably allocated by the Field Manager
This is a full time position, starting end May/early June until end Sept/Oct (with the possibility of permanent employment thereafter). This will include some weekend work.
40 hours per week.
