Role: Scrum Master
Salary: £50,000 - £55,000
Location: Southampton (hybrid available)
We are currently recruiting for a Scrum Master to join our Software department in Southampton.
The successful candidate will be working with various teams embedding agile thinking, supporting individuals in how to apply agile principles, and practices working on our in-house web applications.
This role is office based full-time with the opportunity of hybrid working after completion of probationary period with a minimum of 3 days in-person.
Responsibilities:
- Working with agile based SDLC with Azure DevOps (Boards).
- Organize and facilitate project planning, daily stand-up meetings, reviews, retrospectives, sprint and release planning, demos and other Scrum-related meetings.
- Calculate team velocity and sprint/release progress using Azure DevOps (Boards).
- Ensure the development teams are practicing Agile methodology at all times.
- Stay up to date with latest practices and implement where necessary.
- Work closely with project coordinator and product owners.
- Good communication skills.
- Assist team with making appropriate commitments through story selection, task definition.
- Identify and remove blockers that may impact delivery of team tasks.
- Facilitate discussion and conflict resolution.
- Encourage the teams to organize their own work.
- Participate in the organization and planning of the development schedules.
Essential skills, knowledge, and experience:
- Certified Scrum Master.
- Relevant experience in setting up and managing Azure DevOps (Boards).
- Experience in an Agile software development environment.
- Excellent team player and team builder.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- At least 5 years of experience working with an agile methodology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work with diverse personality types.
- Ability to understand technical issues at a high level.
- Thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values, and procedures.
- Excellent understanding of SDLC.
- Must have exceptional communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Ability to coach the team to reach their highest potentialSelf-motivated.
- Ability to deal with multiple projects and deadlines.
