Job description
We are looking for a Scrum Master to join our team. You'll be responsible for reporting to the Scrum Master Lead with the primary focus of managing one or more scrum teams, driving delivery, managing and resolving scrum level risks and issues and ensuring high quality project delivery using the Scrum delivery framework.
We’re now excited to start a new chapter of our success story. Allwyn has been selected by the Gambling Commission as the Preferred Applicant to be the operator of the National Lottery for the Fourth Licence, starting on 1 February 2024.
We have an ambitious vision for the UK’s National Lottery. Over the next two years we’ll be building a team of experts to deliver a fresh look and feel for the lottery, to drive growth, and to create a better society. This fast-paced, delivery-focused project team will be made up of talented people from a variety of disciplines and best-in-class partner organisations to prepare for the scale of this transformation, supported by experienced colleagues at Allwyn UK.
At the heart of our strategy is people. Through shared values, expertise, and commitment, we will create change, and build a better world.
We can’t wait to get started on this journey and really power change for the greater good.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Setting up and executing Scrum methodology with Delivery/Programme Teams
- Leading and undertaking the Scrum events including Refinement, Daily Stand Up, Sprint Planning and Retrospective.
- Articulation when waterfall practices are needed (e.g. design documentation) and able to manage integrated scrum teams across a number of functions
- Ensureing scrum outputs are of a quality sufficient to enable transition into support
What we are looking for:
- Familiarity with common Agile practices, service-oriented environments.
- Jira implementation and ongoing control/management
- Experience working with distributed software development products and teams
- Hands-on management of Scrum projects and their outcomes, rather than passively collecting and reporting metrics.
Our Benefits:
- 20% Transition Bonus payable at the end of the transition phase subject to scheme rules
- 33 days paid leave. (Includes Bank Holidays)
- 4x Life Insurance
- 4.5% Pension
- Single Private Health cover
- 25 Days Annual Leave (plus Bank Holidays)
- £500 Annual Wellness Allowance
- £100 one-off Working from Home Allowance
Using the power of technology
Key to our strategy is our industry-leading technology and digital-first approach. We believe that lotteries should be fun, interactive, engaging –and always safe. We use technology to keep lotteries entertaining while using data to protect players and to personalise the experience. And naturally, we also use tech to grow player bases and deliver better results.
In the past, we’ve taken established lotteries from pen and paper to modern, digitally enabled services, and while we recognise the UK might be further along the digital maturity curve, we still see plenty of opportunities to innovate.
That’s why building our digital team will be key to the success of the National Lottery. We’re hiring for tech talent across the full digital ecosystem – from data specialists to software engineers.
