Job Focus
The successful candidate will have a passion for analytical chemistry. They will support the R&D portfolio with focus on GMP stability and release testing. They will provide exemplary analytical support to projects in the solid dose manufacturing area by testing excipients, packaging components, in-process control samples (incl. PAT-monitoring), finished bulk and packaged drug products or the drug substance manufacturing area by testing in-process control, intermediate samples and finished active pharmaceutical ingredient. The work will involve the analysis of development compounds using pre-determined methods and is in support of a production environment where a right first-time analysis of samples following established best practices is required to meet critical deadlines.

Responsibilities may include
  • Application and validation of analytical techniques for the analysis of novel, innovative, breakthrough medicines in clinical development including rare infectious disease, cancer, and other life-threatening conditions.
  • Establish effective communication and collaboration with project teams to ensure efficient method transfer in support of stability and release testing
  • Experimental data review for excipient lots and drug product tests
  • Taking responsibility for laboratory investigations and assisting with handling GMP quality and compliance issues resulting from GMP deviations, material / product defects.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and renewal of laboratory instruments, systems, or apparatus and in the maintenance and continuous improvement of safe and effective working practices.
  • Maintaining written records of all experimental work in accordance with Good Laboratory Practice/Good Manufacturing Practice and departmental philosophies.
  • Advocating new technology, process improvements and informatics initiatives designed to increase efficiency and compliance.
  • Maintaining a contemporary awareness of Global Business Practices, methods, specifications, SOPs, Pharmacopoeias, ICH guidelines and regulatory expectations for cGMP lab and material related activities.
Qualifications
  • BSc or MSc degree in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or Pharmaceutical Sciences with significant experience in a relevant industry.
