Analytical Research and Development (ARD), at Pfizer R&D in Sandwich, UK plays a critical role in the research and development of new medicines in Pfizer’s exciting small molecule portfolio, and we are seeking an experienced and talented scientist who is keen to learn, and has a passion for analytical science, to join our exciting, vibrant group in Sandwich, UK.

Job Focus
The successful candidate will have a passion for analytical chemistry. They will work alongside subject matter experts and analytical leads, in cross-functional project teams, to deliver analytical excellence. These project teams work with partner lines from chemical and formulation development, regulatory, quality and manufacturing to develop medicines for clinical and commercial use.
Responsibilities may include
  • Application, development and validation of analytical techniques including chromatography, spectroscopy and spectrometry for novel, innovative, breakthrough medicines in clinical development including rare infectious disease, cancer and other life-threatening conditions.
  • Effectively collaborating with project team members, including presenting data at project team meetings, critically reviewing experimental data and be actively involved in solving technical challenges that arise during pharmaceutical development.
  • Authoring internal and external publications and sections of CMC regulatory documentation.
  • Assisting in the maintenance and renewal of laboratory instruments, systems or apparatus and in the maintenance and continuous improvement of safe and effective working practices.
  • Maintain written records of experimental work in accordance with GLP/GMP and departmental philosophies.
  • Be a positive advocate for new technology, process improvements and for the application of computational tools and digital design approaches.
Qualifications
  • BSc, MSc or Ph.D. degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Pharmaceutical Sciences with experience in a relevant industry.
