Step Teachers are looking for a Science teacher for a role beginning ASAP and continuing until the end of March, requiring work for one day a week, plus one extra day in the final two weeks. The role concerns general science cover and is a long-term supply position, therefore involving planning and marking. Beyond the current timeframe, this role has the possibility to lead to a future long-term or permanent role at the discretion of the school.
Located in Norwich, the school is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Science Teacher who will readily engage with the school’s ambitious, organised, and friendly educational atmosphere. The school is proud of its consistently strong performances at GCSE and A-level, and students are expected to be punctual, polite, and courteous. Teachers at the school are confident subject specialists and are supported by a robust and effective professional development apparatus.
As the ideal Science Teacher for this role, you will:
Possess strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Science curriculum, including Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
Be able to plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons
Upkeep a clean, tidy, and considerate classroom environment
Display a strong, mentoring personality toward students
Cultivate positive relationships with students, working to inspire good behaviour and a passion for learning
Cooperate with and support your colleagues and additional classroom staff
Be able to accurately assess and report on your students, and articulate solutions to their difficulties
Comply with and implement the school's policies, and take part in their supportive educational ethos
Requirements for this role:
QTS or equivalent
Recent mainstream school-based experience teaching science
A relevant science related degree is desirable
