We are seeking a enthusiastic teachers in subject shortage areas including science (Physics, Biology and Chemistry) and Modern Foreign Languages to join our expanding team for online teaching. Candidates will join our team at Sophia High School offering the British National Curriculum at Primary and Secondary Level.
We are expanding our hybrid offering as we work with a growing number of school partners who wish to develop a future focused vision of education and address shortage teacher areas. In this way, our teacher will work with our school partners to deliver exceptional educational experiences online.
In particular we would love to speak to Italian and Spanish speaking educators with experience in the these national curriculums or those who can offer bilingual teaching, with a particular focus on the sciences.
Full Time and Part Time Roles will be considered for candidates who are able to commit to the end of the current Academic Year.
The ideal candidates should have a passion for teaching and a commitment to helping students reach their full potential through virtual learning.
Responsibilities:
- Teach the British curriculum to students from Year 1 to Year 6 (Primary) and Years 7 to 13, of all levels, through online platforms
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans for virtual classes
- Assess student progress and adjust teaching methods as necessary
- Encourage students to actively participate in online class discussions and activities in both native language + English
- Prepare students for language proficiency exams at IGCSE + A Level
- Provide a program of online curriculum content that can be accessed by students during offline sessions that support the ongoing development of students
Requirements:
- Native or near-native proficiency in English
- Bachelor's degree in education, linguistics, or a related field
- Previous online teaching experience preferred
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to create engaging and interactive lesson plans for virtual classes
- Reliable internet connection and computer with webcam and microphone
- Experience with Google for Education (Classroom) is an advantage but training will be provided to all successful candidates
- Fully qualified teacher or ESL qualifications are an advantage
- Knowledge of the Italian and/or Spanish Education system is an advantage
