School Character Education Instructor
Full time 1 academic year contract (September 2023 -end of July 2024)
Salary-£20,000- £23,000 PA
09:00-15:30 Mon- Fri (32.5 hours)

Character Education & Life Skills is a local; Anglesey based business that champions resilience, confidence and good character as fundamental to the education, wellbeing and future success of young people. An exciting opportunity has become available for an instructor to join the team. This position would be well suited to an individual looking to advance their career in education whilst changing the lives of local young people. As an instructor, you will deliver weekly sessions independently to schools across the island and into Gwynedd. You will work closely with team members to follow a researched, tried and tested programme that will run throughout the academic year. You will also be responsible for organising and delivering community based sessions and continuing to develop links with local clubs, agencies and organisations.
Responsibilities
Delivering character education sessions to classes of up to 30 pupils
Forming excellent relationships with partner schools, staff and pupils
Providing key character feedback through relating it to real life situations
Evaluating performance and providing suitable feedback, balancing criticism with positivity and motivation
Assessing strengths and weaknesses in a participant's performance and identifying areas for further development
Adapting to the needs and interests of group or individual participants
Communicating instructions and commands using clear, simple language
Demonstrating an activity by breaking the task down into a sequence
Encouraging participants to gain and develop skills, knowledge and techniques
Ensuring that participants train and perform to a high standard of health and safety at all times
Inspiring confidence and self-belief
Working with IT-based resources to monitor and measure performance
Acting as a role model, gaining the respect and trust of the people you work with
Working to an excellent legal and ethical standard at all times, particularly in relation to issues such as child safeguarding and health and safety requirements.
Generating a daily report for schools head teacher at the end of each day Promote the good work we do through online and in person promotion
Accurately deal with numbers, surveys and reports Essential Skills
The ability to quickly develop successful working relationships with people from different backgrounds and with varying levels of engagement and ability
Be confident in teaching full classes of year 3-6
Being able to adapt to work with foundation phase and secondary school pupils when needed
A desire to help other people succeed
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Essential
-A levels or equivalent
-Ability to speak, deliver lessons and write in Welsh fluently -Experience of working within a school environment
-Excellent communication skills
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Be an organised, hardworking individual that genuinely cares about the change in young - people
-Possess good Microsoft Office skills- Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Publisher
-Have confidence in posting on social media
-Enjoy working outdoors throughout the year
-Full UK driving licence with own transport
-Able to achieve an enhanced DBS

The post will begin in September for the full academic year with the possibility of running sessions within the community outside of term time. 1 academic year contract but with full opportunity to continue to a permanent position with retention of their schools.
