Job description
The School wishes to appoint an enthusiastic and committed individual to join the Operational Services department on a part time basis for 27.5 hours per week (3.00pm – 8.30pm Monday to Friday) during term time plus 6 additional weeks during the school holiday periods. The successful candidate will work in the School Sergeants Team and will be responsible for providing a porterage and general caretaking service for the School and third-party events.
This role will involve setting up and breaking down rooms for various events, locking and unlocking buildings and car parks, undertaking traffic control duties, undertaking minor repairs and maintenance, and ensuring Foundation security.
The successful candidate must be of smart appearance, have a helpful and friendly attitude and possess good communication skills as well as the ability to identify work priorities, whilst ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date. A full driving licence is essential for this role.
With some 2,400 pupils, Bolton School is a large, thriving, academically selective day school. It is situated a mile or so from the town centre in a stunning 32 acre campus and is within easy reach of some of the nation’s finest cities and countryside.
A large Foundation Services Department supports the School operations and within this there is a trading arm, Bolton School Services Limited (BSSL). This includes BSS Weddings and Events, BSS Leisure Services, Kidzone and Patterdale Hall, a superb Outdoor Pursuits Centre situated at the Southern end of Lake Ullswater.
