Kings Lynn Nursery School is situated in ‘The Walks’ the largest park in Kings Lynn. It was originally built in the 1940’s to serve as a Nursery for working mothers during wartime. Since that time the nursery school has gone from strength to strength, helping literally thousands of young children learn and develop in the most enjoyable ways possible.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual for our school office. We are looking for someone who has previous experience in admin, who would also like to work supporting parents and develop into a Parent Support Advisor and Designated Safeguarding Lead. You would be working alongside our supportive, professional nursery team including our Finance Officer.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- A friendly and warm nature
- Ability to show initiative
- Flexible yet organised work ethic
- Previous experience working in an office environment (School office preferred)
- Effective use of ICT packages such as Excel, Word, and Management Information Systems
- Good numeracy/literacy skills
- NVQ 2 or equivalent qualification or relevant experience
- Work constructively as part of a team, understanding school roles and responsibilities and your own position within these.
- Be able to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents, both orally and in writing
- Must be able to relate to people in an empathetic manner and deal with any issues confidentially
Duties would include;
- Receiving and relaying promptly any telephone or emails and dealing initially with all enquiries
- Greeting any visitors to the nursery and arranging tours and admission enquiries
- Developing and maintaining the database using schools system, Pupil Asset. You will need to complete and return Census, maintain and monitor pupil records on absence, admission, transfer, and updates
- Create, develop and maintain spreadsheet for pupil sessions
- Support parents with any worries they may have. Signposting to other agencies or attending safeguarding meetings when required
