SCHOOL NURSE – Term Time only

Salary up to £35,000 FTE depending on experience (pro-rata for part-time hours)

Plus competitive benefits package

24 hours per week, 36 weeks per year

Monday, Wednesday 12.30 – 17.30, Tuesday 8.15 – 14.15 and Thursday 8.30 – 17.30

There may be some flexibility on hours for the right candidate

King Edward VI School is a thriving co-educational 11-18 independent day school looking to recruit a qualified nurse to provide medical care to our 980 pupils. Working in a team of 4 nurses and reporting into the Lead School Nurse you will have an integral role to play in supporting our vision that puts wellbeing as the cornerstone of academic and pastoral success. The school has a dedicated wellbeing room, counsellor, chaplain and learning support team to support the pupils and work alongside the school nursing team.

As a member of our nursing team, you will provide to our school community a clinically effective, high quality service of nursing care, including First Aid, welfare and health information. Two years minimum qualified experience is essential; experience of working with children and families in a community setting and experience of A&E/minor injuries is desirable. You must be an excellent communicator, effective at building relationships and have a warm, approachable and calm manner.

The successful candidate will support the leadership team in their pastoral duty of care by dealing with all aspects of medical care and developing positive attitudes to health matters for our school community.
