What is the opportunity?
An exciting opportunity to launch their career working in the Data Strategy Office at RBC. Initially this will be an 18 month rotational programme through 4 of the key data areas: Data Governance, Data Management & Quality, Data Analytics and Strategic Initiatives. They will discover the end-to-end data journey at RBC, from defining our data to producing an interactive dashboard for users across Wealth Management International (WMI. Across the four areas they will be able to learn about how RBC are working towards a modern culture of data. This programme will provide an opportunity to understand how data is interrogated to answer key questions from product and functional areas at WMI. By attending stakeholder calls and providing support for key initiatives, they will develop critical data skills for their future at RBC. After successful completion of the rotational programme, they will have the opportunity to remain in the Data Strategy Office in a permanent position going forward.

What will you do?
For the first 18 months of your employment, you will rotate through four teams: Data Governance, Data Management & Quality, Data Analytics and Strategic Initiatives. Typical activities could include:
- Attending calls with stakeholders across RBC to discover new technology, provide updates on our progress against strategic initiatives or understand project requirements
- Develop knowledge in all aspects of the data lifecycle, such as defining data, receiving requests, resolving data quality issues or even producing an interactive end user dashboard
- Provide support to initiatives by tracking actions and attending working group sessions
- Learn to use and explore the variety of systems we utilise in the Data Strategy Office
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Expected to achieve or have achieved the equivalent of 102 UCAS points (BCC grades) in one sitting either via A-levels or other recognized national qualification e.g. BTEC
- Competent use of various software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook plus fast and accurate keyboard skills
- Excellent organisation skills and using own initiative to ensure that outstanding matters are followed through and ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent telephone manner for both internal and external calls
- Must have a flexible approach and be a team player
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a good command of English to correct punctuation, spelling and grammatical errors for correspondence
- Willingness to study for a relevant professional qualification
Nice-to-have
- Active participation in non-academic extra-curricular activities including but not limited to volunteering, sport, recreational pursuits
- General business awareness and interest in current affairs
