School Business Manager and Director of Finance
Salary information: Pay Scale: Up to £55,000 per annum (more may be available for an outstanding candidate)
We are looking for a talented and highly skilled School Business Manager/Director of Finance who would relish the chance to join our Senior Leadership Team. Reporting to the Principal, you will be the Academy’s leading support staff professional. You will play a key role in ensuring effective financial management and reporting, alongside managing the day-to-day operations and support services of the Academy. This is a broad role and your responsibilities will also cover HR, premises, health and safety and contract management. You will focus on operational efficiency to ensure that we provide high quality value for money services resulting in the best education possible for our young people. Currently our budget is of the order of £3m.
About Global Academy
The Global Academy is a state school for 14 – 19 year olds offering unique academic and practical learning opportunities for young people interested in a career in radio, TV, digital, advertising and social media industries. We already have an alumni working in some of the most renowned media organisations in the world – BBC, Facebook, Google, Tiktok as well as Global. We have a purpose-built building based a short distance from Hayes and Harlington station on the Old Vinyl factory site.
Job Role
- A qualified or part-qualified Accountant or Business Manager, you will have a track record of financial management/stewardship.
- You will be keen to play a broader role in other areas of our support operation and will enjoy customer service and problem solving.
- Previous experience of working in an education setting may be useful but is not essential. You may well be looking for a more worthwhile context to utilise your expertise.
- Key will be a value set that matches ours alongside people skills, a commercial acumen and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
