Job description

We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Minibus Driver & Escort for our school transport service. At our school, we deeply value Respect, Believe, and Achieve, and we are looking for a candidate who can embody these values in their role. The position involves transporting students from their homes to school and back, ensuring their safety and well-being throughout the journey. Additional shifts may also be available to support student journeys throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely drive the minibus, adhering to all traffic rules and regulations
• Supervise the students as a student escort
• Assist students with boarding and disembarking the vehicle, promoting a culture of respect and kindness
• Foster and maintain a supportive and nurturing environment for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, instilling a sense of belief in their abilities
• Cultivate a respectful atmosphere and encourage positive behaviour during the journey
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff, fostering a sense of achievement and collaboration within the school community

Requirements:

• Possession of a valid D1 driving licence
• Midas training (Minibus Driver Awareness Scheme) is desirable
• Prior experience working with students or individuals with SEMH needs is advantageous
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, reflecting our values of respect, belief, and achievement
• Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility
• Successful completion of a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is mandatory

Working Hours:

• Morning shifts, afternoon shifts, or both are available
• Additional shifts may be available to support student journeys throughout the school day
• School transport runs during term-time
• Start date: September 2023

Job Type: Part-time
Part-time hours: 8.75-17.5 per week

Salary: From £11.00 per hour
