Job description
Job Vacancy at Cornerstone Academy Trust
School Administrator
All Year Round
Required as soon as possible
Based in Exeter
We are wishing to recruit a new administrator to start as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will join a large and talented team that provide excellent support to the families and staff at each of our schools. This role is varied, busy and interesting as you will be responding to the day to day pressures of the busy school life and the needs of the Trust’s 1,500 pupils and their parents. The team is responsible for the main reception desks, the Teams based communication systems, the back-office management information systems as well as providing admin support to the wider leadership team in the delivery of the many services we provide ensuring that they run smoothly. These services include the operation of our four School Nurseries with over 350 children aged between 2 & 4, an in-house dining service in each school, our own bus service, a wrap-around care service, a range of extra-curricular activities and many school trips and residential activities for children. This requires the efficient use of our management information system, our communications systems, the online payment systems and the maintenance of many different databases to support these different services.
You will need to be extremely personable and have excellent communication skills both on the telephone and face to face. We need inspiring and dedicated team members who will bring additional flair and efficiency to our highly regarded admin team. We want someone who will bring organisation skills to the role as well as having a liking for accuracy, planning, analysis, and reporting. It is essential that the postholders have excellent and demonstrable competency in the use of IT, specifically in the use of Microsoft 365 including up-to-date experience in the use of Microsoft Teams, Outlook, OneNote, and Excel. You must have a great work ethic and a “get the job done” attitude.
The role is permanent and will be based at one of our Exeter schools. Due to the opening of our Nursery provision during school holidays and our holiday club for school aged children, we ideally require someone to work all year around, both term time and in school holidays. You will receive 28 days’ annual leave (including public holidays). The hours are 8:30am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday with a 30-minute lunch break. As the working hours require a longer day the actual salary will commence in the region of £22,000 per annum, depending on age and experience.
Cornerstone Academy Trust has schools based on the edge of Exeter in East Devon and in the coastal town of Barnstaple in North Devon. Our employees have access to subsidised childcare costs in one of our breakfast clubs, after school clubs and school holiday club. You will also benefit from the excellent Local Government pension scheme, a health scheme, a cycle to work scheme and subsidised meals in our staff café with food cooked and served by our own chefs. Successful candidates will be provided with state-of-the-art IT equipment to help them fulfil their duties and we support all staff with an investment in their professional development through training and a good performance management process, where a bonus is payable to those who achieve highly.
We look forward to receiving your application and hopefully meeting you as part of the recruitment process.
