- Administrative experience in a school or education setting is essential.
- Suitable speed and proficiency in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel is required.
- To work directly with the admin team to the best of your ability.
- To ensure the professional and smooth running of the school office.
- To work directly with children, their parents and guardians, therefore there is a need for empathy and great care when dealing with our clients. The needs of the clients must be put before the administrative duties.
- To maintain and develop the administrative department, implementing new practices and systems to encourage growth and development of the school.
- To give a positive receptive manner when welcoming clients into the office or via the telephone.
- To be open to embrace and promote the standards and ethos of the school and to ensure that loyalty and faithfulness towards the enhancement of the school is shown in the place of work.
- To be willing to develop further skills and training to ensure the development of the administration department.
- To assist the main administrator on a day to day basis.
- To ensure the smooth and professional running of the school office.
- To prepare the office for the day’s activities, to take pride in its presentation and to ensure its safety.
- To administer first aid and comfort to pupils when required and to be involved in providing a secure, safe and caring environment for all pupils.
- To complete all types of administrative duties such as answering the telephone, filing, letter writing, report writing, checking the school registers and dinner books, typing and displaying notices, examination preparation etc…
- To be competent in the use of computers and to be familiar with relevant package and software.
- To go on courses when required to learn appropriate skills.
- To endeavour to market the school to the fullest and to embrace the desire to see the school develop and expand.
- To assist in marketing and organising events and to attend events to assist at such events as required.
- To take a positive approach when given tasks and to be optimistic and enthusiastic with new ideas and procedures which are brought in to ensure the continuation of the school.
- To assist the teachers where possible.
- To ensure that the reception is a place where people are received with professional warmth and care.
- To ensure that your undivided attention is given to clients when they enter the reception and that their needs are met.
- To contribute to the development of the school as part of a team to enhance professional practices and personal development.
- To be flexible, friendly and approachable to pupils, teachers and parents throughout the day.
- To manage the school’s website and social media pages.
- To assist in after school events throughout the year; some of which occurs in the evening.
- To provide cover for other administrative staff in line with holiday requirements.
