The Scholarships and Studentships Insights Officer is a new role that will support the strategic ambitions of the Scholarships and Studentships Steering Committee (SSSC).
Duties and responsibilities
As a member of the Market Insight and Data team in the Marketing, Recruitment and Admissions Division, you will coordinate and manage the College’s Scholarships and Studentships network, including drafting and implementing an annual pattern of work for the steering committee, ensuring actions are delivered, tracked, and evaluated.
In this role, you will also coordinate and service the two sub-groups that report into the Steering Committee, supporting members in ensuring scholarship funds are spent in the most effective way. When a new scholarship is proposed, this role will support in gathering the necessary paperwork for review by the Central Secretariat for due diligence, relationship review and compliance with the equalities act.
The development of our Scholarship Search Tool will be fundamental in improving our applicant experience. This role will work with the Student Financial Support and Tuition fees team to ensure that the tool accurately represents all opportunities available across the College in a consistent manner (including language used).
The role will also work with multiple stakeholders to ensure that our priority scholarships are giving appropriate visibility through marketing channels to achieve maximum impact and work closely with Market Data and Insights Officer on competitor analysis. The role will also support the Market Data and Insight Officer on implementing an evaluation framework aimed to understand the success of the scholarships Imperial offers its prospective students (with understanding by Department, funding type, level etc).
Essential requirements
What we’re looking for:
- A qualification in a relevant field or equivalent, together with significant post qualification experience in administration
- Strong experience of dealing with finances and budgets with evidence of successful experience of administering budgets and related processes.
- Strong experience in operational management, including implementing policy, manipulating and retrieve information from databases,
- Excellent communication skills, with experience of providing high quality customer service and relationship building
- A proactive self-starter, with the ability to take initiative and work independently as well as part of a larger team
You don't necessarily need to have worked in Higher Education before, but you do need a passion for it. Previous experience of working in a fast-paced administrative role and an ability to pick up new tools quickly are also essential.

The College is currently trialling a Work Location Frameworkuntil early 2023. Hybrid working may be considered for this role and the role holder may be expected to work 60% or more of their time onsite, with 40% the minimum time spent onsite. The opportunity for hybrid working will be discussed at interview.
