Scan Assistant
Window to the Womb
Window to the Womb (windowtothewomb.co.uk) are specialists in diagnostic ultrasound baby scans. We are looking for a very special person to take on the role of Scan Assistant in our milton Keynes clinic.
The role provides the vital link between the clinical scanner (sonographer) and the expectant woman and her family ensuring that from the moment they arrive, their experience is optimized and the relationship with the customer is fully developed. We are looking for an individual with the confidence, experience, charisma, and ability to build a strong rapport with our families. We also seek someone who is happy to take on added responsibility. No technical experience is required.
This is a role that will involve one day weekend and Tuesday/Thursday or Friday work.
Tuesday: 1:00pm-9:00pm
Wednesday-9:00am- 3:00pm
Thursday/Friday: 1:00pm-9:00pm
Saturday: 8:45am - 6:00pm
Sunday: 8:45am-6:00pm
You will spend your working day introducing parents to their unborn baby for the first time; it really doesn't get any better!
Key tasks and responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Clinical Team
a. Proving key support to the clinical staff as they carry out the medical duties
2. Relationship Building
a. To build rapport and a strong relationship with the customer and their family ensuring that their experience is smooth, enjoyable, informative and relaxing.
b. To support the sonographer throughout the scan process allowing them to concentrate on the clinical aspects of the scan
c. To work in close partnership with the sonographer and a small team of staff ensuring that the customer receives the correct information in a relaxed, dignified, non-threatening and informative way.
3. Selling
a. To look for and capture upsell opportunities throughout the customers visit including additional scans, upgrades and extra merchandise sales
4. Handling difficult situations
a. To deal with customers with compassion and sympathy as the primary objective.
b. To ensure that the customer is helped through the process of communicating with the sonographer
c. To ensure that relevant paperwork is completed thoroughly
5. Hygiene and comfort
a. To clean down the clinic at the end of each trading period and to generally ensure that the clinic is spotless at all times
6. Administration
a. To handle basic administration tasks to a good standard
b. T be reasonably computer literate
7. Other duties
a. To be prepared to take on other duties, and responsibilities within the clinic as required, including reception, marketing and administration
Job Types: Part-time & Full-Time. This is a Zero hour contract with the potential to be changed to part time hours once passed the 3 months probation.
Experience:
- Customer service: 2 years (preferred)
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent, Zero hours contract
Part-time hours: 12-24 per week
Salary: £10.50 per hour
