Open-ended (Permanent), 17.5 hours per week
We are looking for a part-time Scan & Deliver Assistant to support the teaching and research needs of the University through access provision to scanned print content in response to user requests through the Scan & Deliver service.
The Opportunity:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the University of Edinburgh and play a vital role in accelerating the transition to online access to Library resources and provide a key service to staff and students.
As a Scan & Deliver Assistant you will support the teaching and research needs of the University through providing digitised access to print content in response to user requests placed via the Library’s discovery service, DiscoverED (Primo) and process requests using the Library Management System, Alma.
You will also contribute to the E-Reserve service which provides student cohorts with copyright compliant digitised extracts of essential and recommended readings on Resource Lists.

Your skills and attributes for success:
Experience of working in a library.
Customer service experience.
Good IT skills, including experience of MS Office and knowledge of Library discovery tools and Library Management Systems. Ability to quickly learn and use new IT systems.
Flexible approach with the ability to deal with problems as they arise.
A knowledge of copyright in libraries would be an advantage
The Scan & Deliver Assistants form part of a team working onsite at the Main Library in Edinburgh to provide essential services.
