Job description

Our mission is to be the definitive food company. We are transforming the way the world eats by making food more convenient and accessible. We give people the opportunity to eat what they want, when and where they want.

The Strategy and Initiatives team helps resolve the most exciting and important issues facing the business and pursue our biggest opportunities. You will work with senior leaders, integrate across departments, have experience solving important business problems, bring new insight and lead with pace.

What you'll do

You will report to the Senior Business Strategy Manager and work with commercial leadership to think through some of our most important relationships with restaurants: how we help them succeed, prioritise the portfolio, optimise negotiations and improve commercial outcomes.

You will be at the forefront of what makes Deliveroo great to work at: driving and responding to high growth, leading change, being analytical, and improving outcomes for our consumers, restaurants and riders. This role is based in London and has a hybrid working model.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Strategy: You will support the formulation of the long-term strategy for the UK and Ireland, and structuring its successful implementation and execution.
  • Initiatives and programmes: spotting opportunities, and working them up into new experiments, projects and major cross-cutting programmes and leading their execution. You will work with commercial team members to cut across silos. Over time, you will become our foremost expert on the topics you lead.
  • Commercial support: You will feed into the most important restaurant deals, and creating deal frameworks, and helping think through the different goals of restaurants and Deliveroo.
  • Performance improvement: the separate Strategy and Finance team creates the quarterly and annual budgets, with strategic input. Your role will be to think more holistically about drivers of over/underperformance, and how we respond to them.

Requirements

  • You will have 2 or more years experience in an analytical, fast-pace role - for example, at a management consultancy, or boutique consultancy focusing on commercial topics (e.g., retail, FMCG)

  • SQL proficiency
  • Background in econometrics or statistics (there is a separate data science team)

Workplace & Diversity

At Deliveroo we know that people are the heart of the business and we prioritise their welfare. We offer many great benefits in areas including health, family, finance, community, convenience, growth, time away and relocation.
