Job description
The Role
Responsible for the planning of build and break activities for the Ascentis facility, with the specific aim of achieving performance metrics and maximising uplift of loose cargo. This role will support the Planning and Optimisation department to deliver optimal operational performance at IAG Cargo's LHR Hub.
Duties
- Control the handling items of cargo including receipt, inspection & despatch, including loading/unloading to/from Unit Load Devices (ULDs) of customers’ cargo, ensuring regulatory & safety/security requirements are met
- Ensure correct processing and completion of required documentation and maintenance of accurate records in the appropriate systems
- Interface with customers and their representatives
- Provide leadership in the allocation and supervision of work-related tasks
- Performance management of Cargo Agents
- Safe operation of all cargo handling systems, allocation devices and other equipment and vehicles
- Ensure safe working policies and practices are observed at all times
- Ensure each job across the cargo product portfolio is completed within the agreed service delivery targets and cargo is not delayed
- Liaise and support customers and colleagues in a polite and efficient manner
- Undertake other tasks as directed.
- Ensure capacity and allocation is set accurately to allow operational areas to build and plan in line with regulatory requirements.
- Interacts with key stakeholders to ensure full utilization of capacity.
