Reporting to the In House Production Manager, we are searching for a detail-oriented Sample Machinist with ability to stitch garments to a high standard and strong understanding of garment construction to join our dynamic and detailed Production team at our North London Atelier. This role will involve a hands-on work ethic, with the skills to work independently to assemble entire garments, whilst also working closely together with departments to maintain efficient production. Sample Machinists being an integral part of our luxury made-to-measure experience, we are looking for highly motivated individuals with passion for creating bespoke garments.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and Interpret technical packs to understand garment specifications, construction details, and stitching requirements.
  • Independently stitch and assemble entire garments with precision and expertise, ensuring high quality and craftsmanship.
  • Adhere to production schedules, prioritise orders, and meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with the In House Production Manager to understand production targets, workflow, and priorities.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of customer orders and their specific requirements, including any special requests or customizations.
  • Utilise a wide range of sewing techniques and equipment to achieve accurate stitching and finishings.
  • Continuously self monitor and ensure the accuracy of garment measurements, proportions, and fit during the stitching process.
  • Conduct quality checks at various stages of production to identify and resolve any discrepancies or defects.
  • Keep the workstation clean, organised, and well-maintained to promote an efficient and safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Machinist or Sewing Machine Operator, preferably in luxury fashion.
  • Proficiency in understanding technical packs, garment patterns, and construction methods.
  • Advanced sewing skills, including the ability to sew various fabric types and intricate details accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality to produce garments that meet the standards of luxury craftsmanship.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously, while maintaining precision and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication skills to collaborate with multiple inter-company departments and other stakeholders.
  • Proactive and self-motivated, with a passion for creating high quality garments.
  • Familiarity with different sewing machines and equipment.
  • Understanding of garment production processes and workflow.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Permanent, Temporary contract, Freelance

Salary: £14.50-£18.50 per hour
