The Company
We are a well-established, award-winning company, based in Warrington, offering DNA, drugs and alcohol testing services to the legal community, members of the public and companies across the UK and internationally. We are going through an exciting period of growth, and our team now needs to expand and recruit a Sample Collector/Phlebotomist to join our Sample Collections team covering South East London, Kent and surrounding areas . This role is offered on a full-time basis. The hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm (40 hours per week, with 1 hour break for lunch).
The Role
Sample Collector/Phlebotomist
You must hold a recognised Phlebotomy qualification, have at least 1 years’ experience in venepuncture techniques (vacutainer, butterfly etc) and be able to collect samples in non-clinical settings.
Based from home, you will attend our clients’ locations to collect certain samples which are analysed by our in house laboratory to determine alcohol/ drug abuse in family law cases. This varied role will also require you to collect DNA samples used to establish a relationship or take a breath & urine sample at a workplace.
Responsibilities:
· Attend pre booked appointments at various locations within approximately 1 hour of your home – occasionally, appointments may be further.
· Provide a sample collection service which is professional and personable.
· Develop excellent relationships with clients during the sample collections.
· Follow standard procedures in accordance with the company’s accreditations.
· Ensure that all collections are undertaken in an accurate and safe manner.
· Be flexible in your approach to work and be open to new methods and practices as required.
Essential Skills and Experience:
· Attention to detail.
· Accuracy and clarity in obtaining and recording information.
· Excellent interpersonal and language skills.
· Full UK Driving Licence.
· A minimum of 1 years’ Phlebotomy.
Desirable:
· Community or mobile nursing/ care.
· Previous experience in collecting other samples such as hair and DNA (full training is provided).
