THE ROLE - Sales Travel Consultant

The Sales Travel Consultant is responsible for promoting and selling our holidays over the phone to prospective customers and agent partners. This role requires exceptional communication skills, a persuasive demeanour, and a strong ability to build rapport with customers. The Consultant will work in a fast-paced call centre environment and will be responsible for meeting sales targets and providing outstanding customer service.

You MUST have travel sales experience to apply.

Key responsibilities:

  • Receive inbound calls from potential travel partners and customers, effectively promoting and selling cruise and touring holidays.
  • Identify customer needs through active listening and engage in consultative selling techniques to recommend products that best meet their requirements.
  • Provide excellent customer service by promptly answering inquiries, resolving issues, and addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy.
  • Process sales orders accurately, handle payments securely, and provide timely confirmation to customers.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales, marketing, and commercial, to achieve sales targets, resolve any issues or challenges, and continuously improve the customer experience.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, sales transactions, and relevant information in the CRM system.
  • Participate in sales training and development programs to enhance product knowledge, sales skills, and customer service capabilities.
  • Follow up with customers after sales to ensure satisfaction, address any additional needs, and identify opportunities for repeat business and referral.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends, competitor offerings, and customer preferences to effectively position our products and tailor sales strategies accordingly.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a sales role, preferably within the travel industry, with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to build rapport, engage customers, and deliver persuasive sales pitches.
  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to actively listen, understand customer needs, and provide appropriate solutions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with customers and internal teams.
  • Detail-oriented with good organisational and multitasking abilities to manage sales orders, payments, and customer information accurately and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other sales tools to record and track customer interactions, sales progress, and performance metrics.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with a strong work ethic and a focus on achieving sales targets.
  • Continuous learning mindset, willing to participate in sales training programs to enhance product knowledge and sales techniques.
  • Adaptability to work in a fast-paced call centre environment, handling a high volume of calls while maintaining quality and professionalism.
  • Passion for travel and a genuine interest in providing memorable experiences to customers.

ABOUT YOU

  • You are passionate and enthusiastic about delivering exceptional customer service
  • Previous experience in face-to-face, phone or customer sales roles
  • An understanding of the travel industry and systems is desirable
  • You have a proven track record of achieving sales targets and generating revenue
  • Strong communication and persuasion skills are a must
  • Flexibility to adapt with changing travel trends, customer demands, and industry developments
  • Willingness to continually learn and grow
