We’re looking for an enthusiastic and driven individual to join our team in Jewson High Wycombe (HP12 3TA) as a Trade Counter Sales Assistant!
This role is working with Jewson High Wycombe as part of the STARK Group. We are a leading building materials distributor in Northern Europe. We connect suppliers of heavy building materials with the professional craftsmen who build, renovate, and maintain the cities of tomorrow.
Our branch is in a great location within busy Cressex Business Park in the heart of High Wycombe, so this is a role that will keep you busy with customers, current and prospective!

- Working within a Builders Merchants would be extremely beneficial, but not necessary!
- Working in a similar sales role, with a flexible and proactive approach
- Passion for delivering great customer service and leading by example
- A good level of IT literacy
Hours of Work: 7:30am-5pm Monday to Friday and 8am-12pm every other Saturday
What will I be doing?
As a Trade Counter Sales Assistant, you’ll get the opportunity to build relationships, quote prices and generate sales each day, along with handling cash transactions, placing direct sales orders, organising delivery times, and keeping customers informed once their orders are placed – all while giving the customer a fantastic service. Your day-to-day duties will include:
- Getting to know our products and services to maximise all customer interactions
- Developing new customer accounts and lapsed accounts
- Assisting and advising customers face to face at our trade counter and via phone and email
- Supporting branch management and the wider team
- Build strong, effective relationships with customers and suppliers, managing feedback accordingly
- Ensuring all customer orders are fulfilled in a timely fashion
- General housekeeping and stock replenishment in the retail area
- Following plans to continuously improve customer experience
