About the Role

We are looking for a Sales Ledger assistant to work as part of our friendly, dynamic and growing finance team, at our Head Office based in Croydon.

As Sales Ledger Assistant your primary role will be ensuring the smooth, end to end running of purchase ledger from purchase order through to payment and maintaining good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate would be self-motivated with a can-do attitude, possessing strong organisation skills, and a professional approach with a high level of discretion.

Further key responsibilities include

  • Raising sales invoices and maintaining service users records.
  • Collection of due/overdue accounts receivable.
  • Allocating receipts to customer accounts Reconciling client accounts
  • Review accounts receivable with emphasis on items in excess of 30 days
  • Liaising with the Business Development Team, Service Managers, Local Authorities/CCGs/NHS England and where indicated service users and their families for required information relating to new admissions and discharges.
  • Liaising directly with Local Authorities, CCGs, and NHS England to proactively resolve issues to collect current and historic balances
  • Reconciliation of sales ledger control accounts
  • Achieving KPIs aimed at maximising cash collection and minimising old debts and write offs
  • Allocating and reconciling Service Users Personal Allowance Accounts.
  • Other reasonable duties requested by the company from time to time

About you

  • Previous Sales Ledger experience is essential
  • Experience of Sage 50 Accounts
  • MS Excel Intermediate level or above
  • Able to deal with a high level of complex debt issues and prioritise accordingly
  • Have demonstrable excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Track record of positive prioritisation and the ability to juggle a busy workload and meet tight deadlines
