We have an incredible opportunity for a Direct Sales Manager to join our team at BHSF. As a successful direct sales manager you will develop and implement strategies to generate opportunities, drive sales, increase market share, and enhance brand visibility. You will also be responsible for the account management teams working in both Occupational Health and Employee Health and Wellbeing, looking for ways to increase revenue from existing customers through cross selling new products in the BHSF portfolio. You will be accountable for ensuring the team deliver the annual targets for retention, cross-sell, upsell and new profitable business while ensuring compliance with all relevant regulation and the Company's Culture and strategy.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the Direct Sales Team including Senior Account Managers and Sales Consultants supporting and developing them to help them achieve their targets.
  • Owning the measurement, tracking, reporting and analytics of KPI’s and targets, utilising the CRM system.
  • Supporting the Director of Sales and Marketing to set annual sales plans, including target markets and KPIs.
  • Provide development, coaching and support to Managers in order to achieve renewal, cross selling and upselling targets to improve customer engagement
  • Conduct monthly 121s, developing a culture where training and development, wellbeing, motivation, and productivity are part of team life and are recorded in monthly performance reviews.
  • Daily analysing, tracking, and reporting of Commercial Dashboard, MI data, KPI’s, customer feedback and insights inputting into the monthly reporting cycle for the Executive Team
  • Lead regular team meeting to ensure team are fully supported to deliver both personal and team service targets.
  • Support the Sales Consultants to identify and engage with employers within a specific geographical region, building the sales pipeline for the portfolio of BHSF products and services.
  • Join Key Account Managers and Sales Consultants in customer meetings, ensuring sales, growth, and retention for key high value accounts.
  • Ensure that Consumer Duty is embedded across the whole sales lifecycle.
  • Maintains the highest standards of confidentiality when handling commercially sensitive and other sensitive or restricted documentation.
  • Maintains courtesy, professionalism, and high standards of presentation in all communications with customers and potential customers.
  • Performs all tasks and duties when required, providing flexibility and covering a team working environment.
  • Complies with required obligations under the Company’s data protection, information security and other relevant policies, when handling personal data or special categories of sensitive data.
  • Operates within defined risk appetite levels, and within the context of the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF), Risk Strategy, and all associated policies.
  • All employees are responsible for ensuring the protection of personal data, as such you are required to actively engage with all requests relating to data protection and proactively ensure compliance with GDPR and the DPA when handling any personal, special category or criminal conviction data
  • You must Reviewed: Security Classification: PERSON SPECIFICATION report data incidents in-line with Company Policy. You must understand and comply with obligations under the Company’s data protection, information security, GDPR, DPA and FCA regulations and other relevant policies
  • . • Ensure compliance with the company health and safety rules and requirements, ensuring own safety and that of colleagues at all times; raising risks identified immediately and following all health and safety instructions.
  • At all times, ensure that customers are put first in everything we do, following all policies and procedures, especially those relating to The Consumer Duty.


Knowledge and experience


  • A strong leader, confident in defining reward structures, sales strategies, and growth plans.
  • Strong leadership experience in supporting, coaching, and mentoring a team to deliver against targets with the ability to manage under performance effectively.
  • Proven track record of delivering on a sales strategy around ambitious growth within health and wellbeing and/or insurance.
  • Must be an agile personality who is comfortable with adaptability and a fast-paced environment.
  • Evidence of consistently delivering against sales targets and delivering bottom line value.
  • A clear understanding and experience of engaging with employers across a wide range of sectors.
  • Commercially aware and can motivate yourself and others to succeed and achieve sales targets
