- Please note that to benefit the most out of the programme, we require candidates to be fully flexible on location.
About the programme
Our scheme runs for two years and will give graduates the foundations to succeed in the sales, marketing and commercial functions, with placements across the course of the programme. You’ll go on a rigorous development programme to give you the skillsets to succeed in these areas, whilst also developing you into becoming a DS Smith future leader. You’ll be paired up with a mentor and be given first class training from our external partner to develop leadership capabilities and be offered opportunities to put everything you’ve learned into practice.
Our Sales professionals help drive business into our teams. Within this placement you’ll connect with local and national businesses to develop and grow a portfolio of commercial accounts for our business, ensuring profitability targets are met by establishing new business, increasing market share and volumes. Within Marketing, you’ll work with a team of professionals to grow the DS Smith services, promoting our work on national and international levels. And finally, our Commercial team sits behind our Sales and Marketing teams to ensure we’re making the right decisions along the way by delivering key insights into the market. You’ll also work closely with our Innovation teams to understand the art of the possible, so we can offer our customers the most sustainable, affordable and leading-edge packaging.
Alongside the role-specific skills you’ll develop, you will be part of a large cohort of cross functional graduates from across the business, who you will develop your careers alongside, and can provide a community and support network where you can share development experiences.
- In year one, we’ll focus on understanding yourself, your skills and your strengths and how to maximise your potential.
- In year two, your development will be about understanding others, how to work effectively in teams and how to lead.
From there, you’ll be given the tools to lead the way, whether that’s in becoming a specialist in your chosen field or leading others to succeed.
About you
To be considered for this scheme you must have as a minimum:
- A Business, Marketing, Design or Economics degree (or due to achieve this before September 2023).
- Speak fluently in English and the country you’re applying within.
- Hold the relevant right to work documentation to work within the country you’re applying for.
- Be fully flexible and geographically mobile.
