The Distribution Sales Manager is responsible for growing our market share by leveraging the partnership with the SW Distributor network. Identifying opportunities to grow sales and margin, in order to achieve established targets.
In this position you will be responsible for...
- Achieve or exceed sales and margin budget.
- Identify and win new sales opportunities through leveraging Distributor partnerships.
- Understand, develop and sell on SW’s Value Proposition.
- Develop Territory Business Plan; obtain approval and execute.
- Manage relationships with multiple, multi-brand Distributors. Internally and externally
- Identify current competitors’ strengths and weaknesses and S-W’s competitive advantage.
- Develop strategies to support Distribution partners to target customers and identify items or product categories that require specific attention in support of these strategies.
- Identify the need for, and, with the support of Marketing, develop sales tools (brochures, sell-sheets, product promotions, etc.) to promote sales growth
- Develop weekly selling plan and conduct sales calls accordingly, occasionally in conjunction with the Sales Manager and / or Commercial Director.
- Understand where the customer is in the overall selling process and what steps are necessary to accelerate the process.
- Arrange product demonstrations to support the selling Process.
- Access product/technical information to support customers’ application requirements.
- Complete required call and expense reports on a timely basis.
- Use Salesforce as the key tool for the recording of customer information, meeting notes, opportunities and wins, etc, in line with PCG directives
- Liaise with the facility sales office to ensure stockholding requirements are fully understood.
- Identify potential problems and work with the Sales and Technical teams to resolve.
- Work with the UK laboratory and occasionally the Sweden and Italy labs to identify and develop new products needed to increase sales values and margins.
- Handle customer complaints within lines of authority and manage the process to resolution.
- Work with the facility operations and sales team to provide class-leading product supply.

The ideal candidate will have the following education, skills and experience...
- GCSE Maths and English, or equivalents are required.
- Higher level education in a related field
- Minimum 10 years sales experience
- Experience selling industrial coatings into the industrial wood sector.
- Knowledge of high-level accounting practices, relating to sales revenues and margin analysis
- Operate at a senior level with sales negotiations
- Additional language is an advantage but not necessary (Swedish/Italian)
