What we are looking for

  • A confident, proactive sales professional who can hit the ground running
  • Experience of selling unique venues is preferred
  • You’ll be a proven leader, that’s managed and lead event teams
  • Have the experience and confidence in planning and delivering large events
  • Target driven with strong financial acumen who can meet the departmental revenue and conversion objectives
  • Great client liaison skills alongside strong attention to detail and time management skills
  • Comfortable in a client facing role with experience of face-to-face sales and networking
  • Experience in management of event P&L accounts

It’s safe to say that no day is the same here, you could find yourself organising Bongo Bingo or a Northern Soul Dance Event in the Tower Ballroom one day and a Company conference at the Top of the Tower the next. And of course, that’s not to mention the glitter and sparkle that’s required when BBC’s Strictly comes to town!

As the main operational contact on the day of an event, you will be handling a wide range of teams, from facilities, event staff, health and safety and suppliers. You’ll also be arranging staffing levels and rotas to cover the needs of the business with budget guidelines.

Working as part of Merlin Events Blackpool you will lead your team in selling, planning, and delivering our range of unique Blackpool venues, driving new business, generating leads, and raising awareness of our venues to new and existing clients.

This 12-months, fixed-term, full-time role will be delivered mainly during business hours, however, due to the nature of the industry you’ll be expected to work regular evenings, weekends and bank holidays depending on what events we have scheduled.
