Midlands based Sales Person

About the role
Building on the continued success of the business, MARTOR UK is recruiting a Midlands-based sales person to cover this dynamic industrial region. We are looking for a confident, energetic self-starter: someone able to work remotely to build strong relations with distributors and their sales teams and to acquire new distribution partners. The key elements of the role will be turning opportunities into sales, making site visits to advise knife users on the best cutting solutions for their needs.

Duties & Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
- Developing close relations with distributor sales representatives to generate sales visits.
- Identifying new distributors
- Making Knife Risk Assessments at end users’ facilities. You will be fully trained, including training with organisations like BSIF.
- Customer training – to both distributors and end users
- Attending exhibitions around the UK, including company safety days.
Targets
In the months before the new year, you will agree with the Sales Director the overall sales objective. This will be based on transparent ‘SMART’ principles - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and to Time. This will be the template for you to measure your performance across a series of objectives, covering your region.
What We Look For
- A committed sales professional who will open new sales opportunities – and has the skills to close the sale.
- Minimum 5 years sales experience
- Experience in selling premium products and explaining the benefits to a customer: making a compelling case for why MARTOR is the best choice.
- A self-motivated person, comfortable working independently
- Good interpersonal skills, at ease talking to any audience: from a shop-floor user through to a distributor’s Sales Director
- Willingness to travel daily, across the region. Also, to travel to and make overnight stays to attend monthly (sometimes more) meetings at our Head Office in Kings Langley, Herts.
- Experience of the PPE or Handtools sector would be helpful but isn’t essential.

What’s the deal?
- Competitive Salary, c £35,000 depending on experience.
- Annual bonus based on sales and agreed targets.
- Car allowance £5,000 annually (plus mileage allowance)
