Job description
The head of sales activity if fundamentally based on matching. the company has 150 CROs (ie the sellside) which have to be offered to potential clients
- Prospect and generate leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, and referrals.
- Conduct thorough research on potential customers and understand their needs and pain points.
- Present and demonstrate our products/services to prospective clients, highlighting the value and benefits.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, providing ongoing support and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Negotiate and close sales deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and maximizing revenue opportunities.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective sales strategies and promotional campaigns.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth.
- Maintain accurate sales records and reports using CRM software.
- Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Ideal if you have experience with leading sales teams at web or web-app development and tech companies
- Startup experience; Impact, flexibility, adaptation, reactivity, and problem solving attitude
- Agile mindset; adhesion to principles and values
- A minimum of an undergraduate degree from a reputable institution (yup, we still believe in a quality University education, could be from anywhere in the world) OR an equivalent amount of experience in the University of Life with results to boot where you have successfully built a GTM function and have a clear revenue track record
Preferred Experience:
- Top marks if the candidate has worked at a marketplace startup prior and understands the challenges associated with “the cold start problem” and the opportunities afforded to “network effects”
- Ideal candidate would likely have at least 2-3 years of very early stage startup operator experience in a senior role; extra kudos and consideration if they have been a founder before
- We believe analytical, financially literate candidates are best fit for this role
- Experience and exposure to venture capital, venture debt is preferred but not necessary
- A proven track record in growing sales and revenue with references to boot
- Strong commercial acumen - intricately understand e-commerce / online / SaaS models
- Organised, flexible and focused, with the ability to context switch
