Cosmonauts is a London-based B2B Business Development Support & Corporate Events Company. We run 11 own brand global conferences in the Legal, Intellectual Property, Space Commercialisation, Environmental & Agriculture sectors with agendas focusing on innovation, technology and investments.
We create and execute events of all shapes and sizes from bespoke half-day 25 person forums to 1,000 person 3 day conferences. Half of our calendar events take place outside the UK, including the US, Europe, Asia & Africa while the bespoke events can take our team anywhere in the world.

The successful candidate will join a fast growing Business Development team with ample earning, learning and management opportunities in the near future.
The Role
We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Junior Business Development Executive to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial role in driving revenue growth by securing ticket sales and developing sponsorship opportunities for our business-to-business (B2B) conferences and consultancy projects. As a junior sales professional, you will have the opportunity to develop your sales skills, build relationships with clients, and contribute to the success of our sales efforts. The ideal candidate should possess strong communication skills, a keen interest in sales, and a drive to exceed targets.
Responsibilities:
- The ability to work autonomously and without supervision while remaining accountable and motivated for your own success
- Assist in identifying and prospecting potential clients by conducting market research and leveraging industry knowledge.
- Support lead generation activities by cold calling, sending emails, and participating in networking events to build a solid sales pipeline
- Contribute to building and maintaining relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their needs and providing information on further opportunities.
- Collaborate with the conference team to drive delegate sales revenue
- Assist in delivering persuasive sales presentations that highlight the benefits of attending and sponsoring our B2B conferences.
- Contact and converse with a high volume of prospects generated both by yourself and that have been generated for you
- Provide timely and accurate sales reports and updates to management to track progress against targets and key performance indicators.
- Attend conferences, trade shows, and networking events to represent the company and establish relationships with potential clients.
Requirements:
Strong interest in sales and a desire to pursue a career in B2B conferencing and events
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively convey information.
Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a willingness to learn and grow in a target-driven environment.
Basic knowledge of the B2B conference industry, sponsorship trends, and key players (training will be provided).
Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in using Word, Excel, PowerPoint and willingness to learn CRM software and other sales tools.
Willingness to work collaboratively in a team environment and support senior sales executives.
Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a customer service mindset.
