Job description
- Serving customers, assisting them to find the products they’re looking for
- Offering appropriate advice on our range of DIY, decorating, cookware, plumbing, electrical and gardening products
- Booking in and putting away deliveries
- Re-stocking shelves, ensuring goods are attractively displayed
- Creating window displays
- General housekeeping to include cleaning, tidying, sweeping etc
Training to be given in
- Till operation
- Paint-mixing
- Key-cutting
We are looking for someone with the following qualities:
- a sound, basic education (minimum GCSE grade C or equivalent in Maths and English)
- good verbal communication skills
- well-presented and personable
- interest in DIY (practical experience an advantage)
- willingness to carry out instructions diligently
- ability to work well as part of a small team and also to use own initiative when confident
- physically fit and capable of spending whole day on feet plus some lifting and carrying
- flexibility to work different shifts as needed (within 8.30am - 5.15pm Mon -Sat) averaging 4-5 shifts per week including 2 out of 4 Saturday shifts
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 20 - 25 per week
