About The Role
Your role will involve consulting, designing, and implementing a variety of Parking Management projects. You will communicate with a wide range of the community to consult on changes to the road network including parking restrictions and new parking schemes and to develop your understanding of the pressures from different users on the road network whilst considering the council’s carbon neutrality strategy.
As a core member of the Parking Management team, you will learn how our parking and services support and serve a wide range of residents and businesses in the borough. For example, assessing requests for waiting restrictions and liaising with Members and Members of the public. Providing day-to-day team support, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience of project administration, customer service and engineering delivery that will improve our borough and in the future.
The Transport Project Officer role is a career graded role meaning as your skills develop you can be moved up a pay grade. You will work across all teams within Parking Management which will give you an excellent understanding of the whole team’s work and place you in a great position for future progression.
Key Responsibilities:
- Feasibility, Design, Supervision of traffic/parking sche
- Carry out traffic /parking surveys and analyse results.
- Public Consultation, analysing results and report writing.
Your Skills:
- Be experienced in design with detailed applied knowledge of relevant standards such as Manual for Streets.
- Design traffic/parking projects using CAD, ParkMap etc.
- Specialist knowledge of relevant design standards, specifications, construction techniques.
- No essential qualifications are required for this role if all essential employee specification provisions are met. Master level Transport Planning or Engineering qualification or other sector specific postgraduate qualification desirable but not essential.
