Job description
Sales and Promotions Assistant
Edinburgh Dungeon, 31 Market Street
Edinburgh, EH1 1DF
United Kingdom
OI PEASANTS! WE’RE RECRUITING… Ever fancied being part of the scariest and funniest journey through Edinburgh’s most perilous past. We're on the lookout for part-time Sales and Promotion Assistants to help deliver horrible memorable experiences!
This is a short-term 3-month opportunity (with the possibility of being extended) Shifts will be weekends only during term time, and 5 days out of 7 during school holidays, with each shift being roughly 4 hours. We therefore need candidates that can be flexible when it comes to shift availability.
The role will involve working outside in all weather conditions so we’re looking for someone who is highly motivated and not afraid to embrace the elements to support our distinctively exciting attraction that will take you back to Edinburgh’s darkest history.
What you need
- Lots of experience working in a customer facing environment
- Experience with hitting sales targets
- Experience with cash handling and credit card payments
- Have an outgoing personality
- Confidence and energy to interact with the dungeon dwellers and of course the traitors
You will be part of a small, diverse team that will look out for each other and celebrate each other’s successes. You will enthusiastically approach guests outside of the attraction, interacting with them in a genuine manner whilst actively promoting and selling tickets for the attraction and secondary revenue areas such as the gift shop and photo opportunities.
You’ll be an expert on the Edinburgh Dungeon as well as other Merlin attractions, so that you can highlight relevant products to increase guest sales.
This is a great opportunity to establish yourself and create a career at one of Edinburgh’s top visitor attractions. Training will be given in many areas and at times you will be asked to support the training needs of others.
So, what are you waiting for? Come on in, the cell doors are open and ready to welcome you…
What’s in it for you?
Alongside the opportunity to inflict your unique personality on guests from across the nation, you’ll also receive:
- Fortnightly pay at £9.58 per hour (due to increase on April 1st)
- 25% discount in our retail shops and restaurants and 40% off LEGO online
- Merlin Magic Pass - giving you free tickets to all our attractions worldwide for you, your family, and friends every year
- Employee pricing up to 55% off cinema tickets
