JOB TITLE: Sales and Business Development Executive

Business Team: Falcon Timber – Reports to: Shaun Smith – Site Director

Job Purpose

Reporting to and working closely with the Site Director, the Sales and Business Development Executive will play a crucial role in the management of existing customers, as well as the identification and development of new customer and product opportunities. They will also be integral to the smooth running of the commercial sales office.

Person Specification

  • Good knowledge of timber and softwood
  • Strong sales skills with a margin focus
  • Proficient in MS Office, MS Excel and MS Powerpoint
  • Experience in Bistrack operating system an advantage
  • Professional communication skills with internal and external stakeholders

Job Responsibilities and Major Activities

  • Management and further development of commercial relationships with a significant existing portfolio of customers.
  • To actively develop and promote the Company’s existing high-value and exclusive inventory ranges.
  • To be an integral part of the site based commercial team, managing the daily flow of enquiries and orders received by the site, and actively involved in all aspects of the successful operation of the office.
  • To undertake targeted personal visits to new and existing customers.
  • To operate proactively to develop high quality new business opportunities for the Company, including new inventory opportunities
  • To develop a full understanding of the Company’s computer and paperwork systems.
  • To meet and exceed defined key performance indicators and agreed budget targets.
  • To maximise the overall sales and profit achievement at the site, and for the broader Company.
  • To sell products from site, direct ex quay and resale locations, at turnover and margin levels consistent with budget requirement.
  • To regularly undertake new sector project work to bring forward new opportunities.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £40,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
