Position Overview

The Sales Analyst hybrid-role will sit within the Wholesale Sales Analytics Team to deliver data, tools, guidance and insights to support decision-making and generate business growth. The hybrid-role will support the Sales Team with Pre-Planning 4 times a year during season campaigns.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Position Summary & Responsibilities:



The Sales Analyst hybrid-role will sit within the Wholesale Sales Analytics Team to deliver data, tools, guidance and insights to support decision-making and generate business growth. The hybrid-role will support the Sales Team with Pre-Planning 4 times a year during season campaigns.


  • Focus is within MW Polo – Pre-Planning John Lewis seasonally, one of our key accounts


  • During season campaigns; sell-in reporting / supporting sales team with ad-hoc category / client reports

  • Weekly sales analysis and reporting including; in-market daily sales, seasonal forecasting by brand, re-order tracking, delivery updates


  • Monthly / seasonal reporting including; in-market prebook / re-order trackers, business updates for senior management, sell-thru analysis, end of market data verification, seasonal discount matrix


  • Day to day client / sales reporting and analysing, feedback re-order opportunities
  • During season campaigns; sell-in reporting / supporting sales team with ad hoc category / client reports

  • Develop seasonal product assortments in line with planning targets of sales, SKU’s, productivity and product & cluster needs


  • Collate, analyse and share industry recommendations for the brand / category

  • Develop knowledge of geographic & store attribute performance and trends through data analysis and field feedback

  • Effectively partner with the European merchandising team in merchandise selection, market needs, development and allocation

  • Perform administrative and system related tasks and updates

Experience, Skills & Knowledge

Essential


  • Advanced level of proficiency with MS Excel is critical
  • Strong numerical / financial and planning background with an analytical mind
  • A proactive attitude and ability to prioritise / multi-task
  • Strong time management and robust organisational skills
  • Good communicator and able to work across functions / depts. which include client facing and working with external teams to achieve combined financial goals
  • Good commercial eye for what's happening within the market to include trends, brands, channel influences

Education and Experience


  • MW Apparel industry experience essential, minimum 1-2 full strategic cycles
  • Luxury retail experience desired, not essential

Desirable

  • High proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Good product sensibility
  • Market & competitor analysis
