Sales Administrator & Technical Advisor
Glass Services Ltd is a manufacturer and distributor of flat glass products to the trade throughout the South East. Based in Ashford Kent since 1995, as a family run business, the company operates with approximately 45 full-time employees from a 35,000 sqft in-house modern manufacturing and dispatch facility.
We currently seek an experienced sales administrator / technical advisor to join our administration team. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering orders and estimates with a focus to one of our product lines, insulated sealed units. Applicants will however be required to assist across other areas of administration from time-to-time and will report to the sales office manager.
Insulated glazing is used widely throughout the construction and refrigeration industries, to name a few, as a way of controlling heat and light entering and leaving buildings and mechanical equipment. As with many modern products/materials and processes there is growing level of technical performance and detail we are able to offer. This can include aspects such as thermal, acoustic, fire prevention and impact safety performance.
The successful candidate will become familiar with the performance and characteristics of a wide range of material types and in-house manufacturing processes. With this knowledge, technical advice, material data sheets and estimates can be offered to clients thus allowing them to place informed order specifications.
Previous industry experience is a strong advantage to applicants. However training will be provided progressively on-the-job to match abilities and experience. There is also the opportunity to gain further training/qualifications at a later date through a training a partnership.
All applicants must be proficient in the use of a PC and data entry and have an excellent phone manner. The successful applicant must also be able to communicate clearly with customers by phone and email on a regular basis and forge working relationships with colleges and customers alike.

- Raising and sending quotations
- Answering and forwarding calls
- Providing customers with technical documents/literature
- Liaising with customers, colleagues on project/manufacturing details.

About the position:
28 days holiday per year (inc statutory holidays, pro-rata)
Starting rate £26,000 pa (Paid monthly)
Mon-Friday
Full-time 8am - 5pm
42.5hr working week.
