Sales Account Manager

Sales Account Manager Birmingham, England

Vanti
Full Time Birmingham, England 28358 - 43641 GBP ANNUAL Today
Job description

About the role

We need you to form great relationships with our growing base of blue-chip clients, including some of the biggest names in the UK’s property and construction industries. You should be capable of managing a portfolio of client accounts, acting as a key point of contact and prioritising their varying wants and needs, seeing all requests through to a successful resolution.

We’ll need you to be active in the creation of quotes and proposals that answer requests, ranging from standard off-the-shelf solutions to completely bespoke designs. You’ll be on point for gathering all required information, communicating that to other team members and departments as well as responding to any emerging queries. We need you to ensure all key details are captured accurately to support further stages of the sale as it transitions into project and/or service delivery.

You should be a strategic thinker and active listener that can understand our clients’ wider needs so you can proactively see what work might follow-on from what you’ve sold or that you glean from conversations as to what might be coming next. Where we’re working with partner company accounts, we’ll need you to feed into outbound Sales activities and initiatives, maintaining lists of potential targets that could be used for Business Development purposes.

You’ll need to use our internal tools to produce Sales reports to support other members of the team in their understanding of your sales and account activities.

About Vanti

At Vanti, we’re not satisfied with how buildings work. We’re on a mission to drive positive change in how buildings are designed, built and operated for the benefit of people who interact with them and for the betterment of our planet.

This isn’t some vaporous claim or goal, either. We’re now an accredited B-Corp with a legal commitment to driving systems change.

We don’t put the shackles on creativity. We actively encourage inclusive, outside-the-box thinking to deliver innovative solutions to complex challenges. We’re striving to lead the way in educating the industries we serve on best practice for future generations.

At Vanti, no one day is the same. We don’t work on projects which require templated, one-size fits all cookie-cutter solutions which inhibit positive systems change.

You could be delivering fully integrated smart buildings for blue-chip clients such as Informa, Citi Group or Allianz or conducting critical research on the future of electric flying vehicles and the security and consumption of the energy grid for electric cars.

We realise that to achieve our ambitions we need talented people and a first-class working environment which contributes to everyone’s success. As well as a range of company-wide benefits we provide flexibility for individuals via our agile working policy, so you can reach your potential and deliver your best work around the challenges of everyday life.

We’d love you to join our mission and help us on our journey.

What you’ll be doing

  • Respond to incoming enquiries in a timely manner.
  • Clients are issued accurate quotes and proposals in a timely manner.
  • Ensure that shared mailboxes are well managed and all requests are assigned and actioned.
  • Internal systems (Pipedrive, Asana, Slack) are updated with incoming leads, on-going communication.
  • Keeping data up to date in Pipedrive, such as merging duplicate contacts, duplicate companies and ensuring all details are correct, updating any missing information i.e. address, company website, etc.
  • All required information is handed over to project and service delivery teams.
  • Ensure that all sales documentation for standard operating procedures are created and disseminated appropriately.
  • Changes to services are actioned and communicated with Finance and Service teams to ensure that billing is correctly processed.

About you

We’re a complex business operating within complex industries, and we recognise that it might not suit everyone. That’s why we look for the right personality and culture fit before we look at skills and experience, and we try not to put too much importance on qualifications (unless they’re absolutely essential for the role, like an electrician for example). We’ve highlighted below what we think would be the ideal skills and experience for this role, but if you think you’ve got relevant transferrable skills and experience feel free to apply and make sure this is highlighted in your application.

The ideal candidate will have all the below technical abilities:

  • Excellent understanding of sales, project management tools (e.g. Pipedrive, Asana).
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Previous use of Slack and/or Microsoft Teams.
  • Understanding of the key industries Vanti work in and the difference in engaging with different stakeholders.
  • Understanding of and intertest in key technologies quoted often (e.g. meeting room equipment, IT hardware, Internet of Things and Smart Building integration services)

We also think you should be/have:

  • Ability to engage and communicate with stakeholders at varying levels and adapt communication style to suit (e.g., technical vs. non-technical).
  • Ability to coordinate and prioritise multiple tasks and high-volume workloads, ensuring that routine tasks are maintained, while ad-hoc project work is completed.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and ability to adapt and respond to situations as they arise.
  • Have a discovery mindset and be willing to get involved in and learn new technologies, industries, and practises.
  • Strong focus on the client experience, with the ability to manage client expectations and needs.
  • Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to self-manage workloads while acting as a key team-player.
  • Demonstrate integrity both internally and externally – balancing the needs of the business with client experience.
  • Be passionate about the subject matter and enjoy working with and around technology.
  • Demonstrate a growth mindset, being able to recognise challenges, overcome and learn from them.

Qualifications

  • N/A – though some engineering/science/CS qualifications might be useful; we’re more interested in ability and attitude.

Benefits and compensation

Salary

Because we know how important it is to give people an idea of what they’d be earning in this role, the salary range we’ve got in mind is £25,000-£35,000. If that sounds ok to you (or even if it doesn’t), we’d like to say a bit more about salaries, so please read on…

We have a rough idea in mind of what salaries we pay for certain types of roles based on current team members and market rate (hence the range we’ve advertised for this role), but we prefer to have conversations with candidates and discuss what they’re looking for. We would hate to say, “we will only pay up to £35,000” and for that to put someone off who could add huge value to our growth journey.

We’re transparent and happy to chat about all things finance and money very openly, so feel free to ask us if you’d like to know more!

Additional benefits

  • Agile working policy – giving you the ability to work at the location, and at the times, that work best for you (where your role allows this)
  • Life assurance scheme (4x annual salary)
  • Critical illness cover
  • Company discounts/vouchers – earned through creating healthy lifestyle habits
  • Annual Christmas party, and an annual Team Day
  • Bespoke training & development opportunities, both internally and externally (on Technology, Systems, Soft Skills, Team Building, Construction – whatever you feel might add value to your role)
  • 25 days holiday + statutory holiday (33 total)
  • Statutory Pension Contributions
  • Eyecare vouchers
  • Cycle to work scheme
