Sales Account Manager
Sales Account Manager. A London based market research fieldwork agency offering research services with a focus on quality and client service are looking for a Sales Account Manager. The company undertakes mostly qualitative research across multiple markets, helping their clients to identify and capitalise on insights within the consumer, B2B, technology and healthcare industries. As part of their continued growth, we’re seeking an experienced account manager/bidder to join their friendly and motivated team.
We’re looking for a client-focused and determined Sales Account Manager with a minimum of 2+ years of business development or account management experience in market research or a similar industry. The Sales Account Manager will need to demonstrate consultative sales skills and the ability to build lasting client relationships, produce accurate quotes to tight timelines and close deals. You should be a highly motivated individual who is able to contribute to our ambitious growth plans. You will receive commission on the gross profit from projects that you sell.
Sales Account Manager key responsibilities
- Review inbound requests for quotation (RFQs) that are allocated to you, acknowledge receipt and determine feasibility by conducting desk research and/or reaching out to potential suppliers. Where you determine that an RFQ is feasible prepare and submit a quote based on rate card numbers and/or target margins agreed with the directors and senior management
- After submitting a quote, follow up with clients to confirm receipt, answer questions and make any revisions necessary
- Through this process build a relationship with a portfolio of key clients, understanding their market research plans and needs and encouraging them to use the company as a trusted supplier
- Where time permits, reach out to lapsed clients and potential new clients with the aim of building relationships that encourage them to consider the company as a market research supplier
- Assist with enhancing internal systems to streamline the quoting process, for example, maintaining rate cards for different clients, ensuring that correspondence relating to quotes is filed for future reference and being part of the implementation team for the new CRM
Sales Account Manager key qualifications
- At least 2 years’ successful experience in account management, business development and/or sales in a relevant business
- Excellent sales and interpersonal skills plus strong organisation and planning skills
- Second European language and knowledge of market research desirable, but not essential
Sales Account Manager personal attributes
- Competitive and hungry to close deals and resourceful in finding ways to mitigate potential challenges with feasibility at the quoting stage, but also willing to be a good team player and put the needs of the company first
- Ambitious, willing to ‘go the extra mile’ to deliver excellent client service, including expectation of some evening and weekend work to keep an eye on leads and projects (particularly those for US clients)
- Methodical and detail-oriented
- Able to build effective long-term relationships with clients based on trust
Location
- Central London (current office is 5 mins’ walk from King’s Cross/St Pancras)
- Expect home working for at least 2 days per week for the foreseeable future
