G&H are a world-leading specialist supplier of highly reliable photonics products and manufacturing solutions to customers around the world, relying on our enabling technologies on acousto-optics, crystal optics, electro-optics, fiber optics, optical systems, precision optics, and AFV vision systems. We are currently recruiting for an Account Manager to join our successful EU Sales Team. This is a remote role, travel will be required to G&H sites up to 30% of the time (Ilminster, St Asaph, Torquay and Kent).
As an Account Manager, you are responsible for increasing sales revenue within the Aerospace and Defence Business unit and will be responsible for the growth of existing and new customer accounts.
You will develop and maintain strong relationships with your customers and the Customer Service team as well as G&H Product Managers and Engineers in order to identify, follow up and execute on new sales opportunities.
Main duties include;
- Develop and grow the existing G&H Aerospace and Defence market in line with the G&H Strategic plan
- Develop strong long-term relationships with customers and develop new business opportunities
- Oversee the complete sales process from generating leads to “securing the order”
- Represent G&H at trade shows and industry trade association meetings
- Evaluate sales opportunities and provide appropriate proposals or quotations
- Put together (and present to senior G&H staff) review material to allow accurate assessment of new opportunities
- Use and maintain the G&H CRM system with opportunities.
- Maintain accurate forecasting information
- Make or exceed the agreed sales targets for your account portfolio
- Work with G&H Management/Product Manager/Engineering to develop new interesting applications, markets or products
- Help and advise G&H Customer Services to provide outstanding service to G&H customers.
- Propose creative marketing actions/activities
- Submit visit reports, monthly sales reports and other necessary administration in an accurate & timely manner
- Travel within the UK, Europe and on occasion ROW
- Must gain and maintain security clearance at the level required for the role
Ideal candidates will have the following;
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in photonics and/or optical systems sales
- An appropriate technical degree or BTEC HND (or equivalent) would be advantageous
- Commercial acumen and exceptional customer relationship management abilities
- Ability to produce quality work, as part of a team in a fast paced, deadline driven and ever-changing work environment
- Proven track record in the Aerospace and Defence Market
- Knowledge of MoD Contracts and bidding process
- Experience in a technical sales environment, ideally within the photonics sector or sales experience within the markets into which G&H supply
- Solid computer skills to include Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint and MRP experience
- Experienced with data sheets, analysis
- Ability to make reliable, accurate predictions
- Great written and verbal communication
- Must possess a valid, clean driving licence, proof of insurance and reliable transportation
