Job description
Do you get a kick from helping organisations find the right technology to meet their objectives? We do.
At Astun Technology we help organisations use the power of location to transform service delivery. From enabling the Scottish Government to share thousands of datasets, to ensuring that Joe Bloggs knows which bin to put out this week, our ability to transform data into useful maps and accessible information makes a difference across the UK every day.
We’re now looking for another Sales Account Manager to join our fully remote team.
What the role entails
This Sales Account Manager role involves working primarily with local government and strategic accounts in the South of England.
We’re big believers in nurturing long-term relationships with clients. We’re proud to have a high client retention rate and your friendly, approachable and informed manner will be key to helping us maintain this.
As well as managing existing accounts and providing support with contract renewals, you’ll also help us identify prospects, listen to their needs and suggest solutions that lead to a successful sale and happy clients.
Performance is assessed on an individual and a team basis, so we’ll need you to be proactive in managing your own pipeline and willing to share your expertise with colleagues for the greater good. This may include providing support at events, suggesting marketing campaigns, helping draft tenders, ensuring invoices are correct, or simply sharing examples of best practice.
We know that paperwork isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s vital that you keep customer records updated in our CRM (HubSpot) so colleagues can pick up any queries if you’re busy.
Previous experience of geospatial/digital mapping sales is not essential. Confidence in your ability to identify, qualify and progress opportunities and nurture existing client relationships is a must.
Requirements for this role:
We’re looking for an articulate and confident self-starter based in the UK. If you have the following attributes and experience, we’d love to hear from you.
Essential:
- Some experience of sales account management, including experience of working to targets
- Excellent listening and presentation skills
- Consultative selling and persuasive negotiation skills
- Natural authority
- The ability to manage a workload and prioritise effectively
- The ability to manage a strong pipeline of opportunities and focus on the right prospects with the right amount of effort at the right time
- The right work permits, documentation and permissions to enable an immediate start
- A commitment to working as part of a team and contributing to the success of the business
Highly desirable:
- Five years’ experience of sales account management
- Experience in selling to the public sector
- Experience in selling within the geospatial industry sector
- Experience in ‘technology cloud/solution selling’
- Experience in HubSpot or a similar CRM
Five reasons to join our team
- We’re a small but powerful team of geospatial experts whose solutions make a difference. You can be proud of what you’ll help us and our clients achieve.
- We give back. We support the wider open source geospatial community financially and through knowledge sharing.
- Our clients are forward thinking and view us as an extension to their GIS teams. You’ll never have to dread picking up the phone.
- We don’t just offer flexible working, we encourage it. From handling the school run to running at lunchtime, you’ll be able to put in the miles guilt free!
- We offer a competitive salary and a raft of benefits, including life assurance, access to remote GPs and sabbatical leave.
