Job description
We're looking for a full-time Head Chef to manage the running of our kitchen at our flagship salad Bar in St. Albans.
Working Hours: five days a week including most weekends, 7am to 3pm as well as a 2pm to 10pm shift, with flexibility as and when required, however there may be times, such as Food Festivals, where working outside these hours may be necessary. There will be a three-month probation period and review.
Main responsibilities:
· Ensure all food meets food safety and quality standards to eliminate cross- contamination on the salads bar.
· Prep all cold and hot food items using prep worksheets.
· Follow proper knife safety procedures.
· Operate oven and hot prep equipment and ensure proper time/temp of all hot and cooked food.
· Maintain clean, food-safe dish and prep stations throughout your shift.
· Set up and break down hot and cold prep stations, maintain it clean and organized.
· Manage communication regarding stock and inventory between the service team, kitchen and management.
· Ensure all food is ordered in time to ensure all ingredients are in stock in time for prepping for service, whilst keeping wastage to an absolute minimum.
· Ensure Allergens are handled in the correct way and always displayed.
· Put received orders away.
· Anything else reasonably required by the head chef.

Salary: £22,000.00-£26,500.00 per year
