The good news is that our continued success and business growth has opened up exciting opportunities for experienced LGV C & E Drivers to join our successful team at our 550,000 sq ft multi temperature distribution centre in Sherburn in Elmet, Sainsbury’s contract.

The Role:

• Reporting to the Transport Team Manager

• Delivering stock to the stores in a professional, economical and safe manner always, whilst following company procedures and maintaining the company image to provide a quality service to the stores.

• Work as trained to ensure that the transport operation achieves the targeted daily and weekly KPIs

• The role involves both class 1 driving and class 2 driving daily

• To undertake general duties which support the transport function efficiently and effectively

• To report incidents or accidents that occur whilst on the road, at store or at depot

• Comply with driver hours legislation and all road traffic regulations.

• Comply with health and safety regulations

• To present vehicles for routine service or in need of defect repair to the maintenance provider.

• Ensure vehicle is sealed before and after delivery.

• Adhere to company procedures in connection with PPE and company uniform

• Undertake such duties as may be reasonably required for the effective operation of the function and department.

• Elements of manual handling will be involved in this role.

· Working a fixed shift pattern of Tues- Saturday & Sunday-Thursday

· 45 hrs per week

The Person:

• Must have a minimum of 12 months class 1 driving experience

• Ability to work on your own initiative, working to strict deadlines

• A good communicator both verbal and written

• The right driver would be willing to do both class 1 and class 2 driving daily

• A flexible team-based approach

• Awareness of Transport and Health and Safety legislation

• Ability to act on instruction

The above positions will include shifts, it is essential that you are flexible in your approach to work, night shifts available.
