As a result of our success and ongoing expansion plans the Range are opening a brand-new Distribution Centre, the largest warehouse built in over 5-years, in Stowmarket, Gateway14 Freeport, just 2 minutes of A14 J50.
This investment creates great opportunities and we are currently seeking a Health & Safety Manager. Ideal candidates will have experience of working in a warehouse or similar environment involving manual handling equipment.
About the Role:
- Working as part of a large workforce reporting to General Manager
- Lead Health, Safety & Environment providing guidance and advice to enable the site to comply with relevant statutory legislation & regulations.
- Lead on periodic audits and set framework for daily shift routines.
- Assist with the development, implementation and communication of all relevant HSE policies at the site.
- To create and maintain a short-, medium- and long-term Health, Safety& Environmental improvement plan and programme manage the implementation of initiatives.
- Undertake relevant Safety, Health and Environment audit and create action plan based upon findings.
- Liaise with enforcing authorities as required to ensure the Company is properly represented.
- Processes/policies are maintained and any statutory inspections required are managed.
- Lead and maintain the site Risk Assessment and Safe Systems of Work documents ensuring bi-annual review and sign off by Shift Managers.
- Ensuring accident investigations are completed in a timely manner including any requirement for RIDDOR reporting plus actions are implemented to prevent reoccurrence at the site (inclusive of major incidents)
Knowledge and Skills, we need of you:
- NEBOSH diploma part 1 or NVQ L4
- Experience and trained in all aspects of Health & Safety regulations and legislation.
- Microsoft excel, word & PowerPoint as you will be writing and refining policies and procedures in startup period.

- Team player and great communicator with a strong work ethic
- This is a new site requiring policies, procedures, SSOW and routines to be understood and documented. First few weeks will require circa 3-4 days per week in our Bristol operation. Travel and accommodation provided.
